Imagine things going so right in school that when a student finally graduated
from high school, that student was enthusiastic, competent and truly prepared
to tackle learning for the rest of his or her life.
If you can imagine these things, you can imagine a school with Study Technology
because that is the kind of environment Study Technology creates in a school.
The Study Technology Environment
Study Technology (or simply Study Tech) was developed by American author and
educator L. Ron Hubbard. With very young students, Study Tech is an approach to
learning used by teachers to help the student know why he is studying
something, to allow him to fly through the learning of it and to keep his
natural interest intact and growing.
All parents know how quickly a child learns things in which he has a genuine
interest. There's no prodding, no nagging, no forcing. It's a natural process.
All schooling should be like that, and with the right tools, it can be.
At Delphi Academy, students learn about Study Technology from their side of the
learning equation—how can they get learning obstacles out of their way?
How can they quickly get something they want to know and then put it
to real use? Once a student gains the skill of effective study, he or
she can take greater and greater responsibility for his or her own education.
School can and should be a blast for kids. If their natural drive to
learn isn't blunted, there is nothing children like better than gaining new
abilities and practicing growing up. Study Tech is for kids. Study Tech is for
all learners.
Real Learning
In the end, students who know and use Study Tech acquire the ability to study
any subject effectively and independently. It's a powerful tool that gradually
allows students to take genuine control of their own educations and,
ultimately, their futures.
Empowering students with an ability to study is an investment that pays off for
a lifetime. It starts in the Lower School and just expands from there.
