Science Fair

Our lower school science fair delights all those who tour the exhibits. All students
are given an opportunity to present their new found knowledge of the world around
them. We look forward to this activity each year. It is always a hit!

Community Service
Students at Delphi Academy participate in many community service activities over
the course of a school year. This year cakes were baked, toys and coats collected,
holiday cards and gift bags created and sold. All funds raised and items collected
were donated to support local charities such as the Milton Food Pantry, Toys for
Tots, Coats for Children and the Seeing Eye Dog Association.

Field Trips
A practical part of our program includes many field trips. This year lower school
students went to local farms to pick pumpkins and apples. They learned how things
grow and experienced an old fashion hayride. We visited Plymouth Plantation, Sturbridge
Village as well as spent a day at Mystic Seaport. Each of these trips aided our
student's knowledge of the literature they read. A walk on the Freedom Trail brought
local history to life. A day at the Science Museum enhanced our science curriculum.

2007 Parents' Day Celebration
On Saturday, June 16th, Delphi Academy held its largest ever, end-of-school ceremonies,
with over 500 people in attendance. This year's celebration included spectacular
performances from each class, starting with heart-warming preschoolers signing and
dancing and ending with the wild, toe-tapping eight graders, complete with a live
musical rendition of the Beatles and screaming girls. The theme for these festivities
was inspired by The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a document written by
Eleanor Roosevelt and ratified by the United Nations in 1948 to ensure that all
men, women and children have fundamental human rights no matter where they live.
Achievement awards were presented to each student highlighting the incredible gains
and accomplishments they made throughout the year. Acknowledgments were made to
all parents who contributed to the school's success over the last year, especially
those who contributed to the beautiful building expansion and the new playground
fund raising.
Graduates of the eighth grade program spoke eloquently of the tremendous growth
they experienced while attending Delphi, both personally and academically. They
acknowledged their friends, family and teachers for preparing them with the knowledge
they need to face any educational program in high school and beyond with confidence.
They spoke of their own growth in integrity, ethics and leadership, mottos of the
Delphi logo.
Ceremonies finished with the faculty and staff hosting a reception for the parents
in honor of their choices and determination to have their children attend Delphi
Academy.

Delphi Academy Food Drive
Throughout the months of April and May, Delphi Academy Middle School students conducted
their largest food drive ever, collecting the most cans of food in the school's
history. The number of donated food items came close to 1000. The food was donated
to the Milton Food Pantry.
The food drive was coordinated and organized by the Delphi Middle School Community
Service group. In order to collect so much food, each class competed to see who
could collect the most food items. The class that collected the most food by May
25th earned a pizza party. Diana Marshall's 5th grade class won with 197 cans.
The Delphi Middle School Community Service Group hopes to beat its total amount
in next year's food drive.
